##Acquiring users for your mailing list Prior to sending out your products, newsletters, events, etc. people need to subscribe to your mailing list. Creating a mailing for your Messenger Marketing is a three-step process:

  1. The user or you starts a conversation. If you start the conversation, the user needs to reply before step 2 can be executed.
  2. Chatvisor asks or you ask for a subscription. This step is not necessary if the user subscribes on your website (see method 3: Subscribe button).
  3. If the user confirms the subscription by clicking the Yes button he is added to your mailing list and you can send him info etc.

Note: You can NOT send messages to all the people who liked your page.

In order to acquire new followers Chatvisor offers five different ways how a conversation between you and a user can be started:

###1 Acquiring users from comments This feature automatically sends a private message to users who commented on your posts. If they reply to your message, Chatvisor can offer them to subscribe to your Messenger news.

Go to Community -> Grow and choose Comments Watcher.

Select whether all or just a specific post (using the drop-down menu beneath) should ask the users for a subscription and choose a message that will be sent. Using the tags {firstname} or {lastname} will automatically insert the names of the users.

Note: Users who comment to the same post more than once will only be asked one time. If you check the box users will be asked only once even if they comment on more than one post.

If the user replies to your message you can keep the conversation going and/or ask for a subscription. As soon as the user confirms the subscription he is added to your mailing list.

###2 Acquiring users with Messenger Codes and links (Referrals) Messenger Codes (also called Referrals) can be scanned and are an effective instrument to let users start chatting with you immediately. You can print them on your business cards, flyers, etc. and also post it online. Read more
